Being a Woman

A great athlete once said, "behind every great man there is a woman. While I am not a great man, there is a great woman behind me." He was right. Women count among the most influential people in the world societies of all times. Many prominent women have never fought in the front lines or shone under the brightest spotlight, but they made a difference in some other realms of people's lives. For these reasons, many women have been acknowledged for the pivotal roles they have played in the world's history.

As William R. Wallace would say, "the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world." This quote speaks volumes of what means being a woman. Times have changed. Hence, women are no longer expected to do laundry and other chores around the house. These things are still important.

Nevertheless, the roles that women can play in the world's societies go beyond doing household chores and shopping. Nowadays, women can do all these things and much more. Women's personal, spousal, and maternal influence continues to make history and helping pave the pillars of many societies around the world.

This day and age, women are helping bring prosperity and wealth in today's society. Their multitasking abilities empower them to become important assets at their homes, workplace, and everywhere else they may go. Women are making strides as working as entrepreneurs, architects, doctors, educators, scientists, aids, healthcare workers, and many other important roles.

Shamefully, things have not always worked out well for women. The annals of history tell us of countless despicable acts and unfortunate occurrences that have been perpetrated against women in past centuries. Some of them continue to occur these days as well in many countries around the world. Despite those deplorable incidents, things are much better now than they were years ago.

Some people still do not know how to appreciate women. Their conduct is evidenced by they things these folks do against the opposite gender. Many women still are being treated like trash, killed like cattle, and ignored by society and even by the people that matter the most in their lives. Things should never be so.

Women are the soul of their homes, the strengths of their husbands and the core of their children. Their tender, skillful, and loving influence bypass the boundaries of their homes and extends to their neighborhoods, churches, offices, and even governmental institutions. Hence, women are worthy of being loved, acknowledged, and respected by their loved ones and acquaintances, as well as everybody else.

Therefore, as a woman, I am grateful for having been born in this generation. I might not be rich or famous, but I like to apport my little contributions wherever I go, and thank God for feeling free to do so.

I am proud for being a woman. Therefore, today, I gladly use this platform to congratulate every woman on this special Women's Month. I encourage women around the world to make the most of their days wherever they are.

Finally, I would like to end this post with a note of encouragement to women everywhere. Women, continue making strides in society, and hold fast to the strengths, values, and courage that empower you to build characters and enrich lives. May God bless us all!
